Brandy Melville
Visual Merchandising + Styling + Photography
This page showcases visual merchandising and styling completed by Caitlyn at a Brandy Melville Stores across the world from 2011-2015.
Brandy Melville is a women’s fashion brand that originated in Italy and became popular on social media when it opened it’s USA stores in California. During Caitlyn’s time (From 2011-2015) Caitlyn helped shift the company from a “boho California” aesthetic with many boho prints, flowy materials, and graphic tees to a more classic “New York Cool Girl” with simple basics, collegiate-style graphics, and curated vintage.
The merchandising started with a heavy influence from french farmhouse and shifted into a beachy California vintage shop. The company’s goals was too have as much of the inventory on the sale’s floor at all times so the merchandising had to account for that.
Caitlyn directed and led merchandising, team training, and store openings for 18 stores (including East Coast US, Eastern Canada, Northern Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden) and over 100 employees globally. She designed company creative briefs and style guides to align the brand's stores, and shot and edited photo assets for all social media channels and brand website—leading to a 3233.33% increase of Brandy Melville’s Instagram followers (which was the main marketing channel for the brand at the time).
